A Decade of Purpose, Action, Insights, and Impact

Marking a decade of advancing financial wellbeing, credit union leaders gathered in Denver, CO for the 10th annual CU FinHealth conference at Sheraton Denver Downtown.

They held one shared objective: translating the credit union movement’s “People Helping People” philosophy into measurable member outcomes. This year’s event focused on redefining success through tangible progress of everyday credit union members.

Throughout the event, discussions challenged leaders to rethink how they serve vulnerable and underserved populations, including working ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) households and communities that are driven to payday lenders and check-cashing outlets.

Participants also examined ways to remove operational friction and combat financial trauma surrounding issues like medical debt. They learned to embrace inclusive practices, such as universal neuro-inclusive design and elder financial protection.

This year’s conference also spotlighted actionable strategies, like how to responsibly pair artificial intelligence and behavioral data with human empathy. Speakers taught attendees how to scale customized wellness programs, and how to bridge the gap between classroom financial education and real-world capability.

By integrating community asset mapping, social service partnerships, and jargon-free communication, leaders left with a practical blueprint designed to meet credit union members where they are — and de-escalate financial anxiety.
