As the year draws to a close, California’s Credit Unions wants to reflect on the advocacy work credit union leaders and advocates helped accomplish during the 2025 California State Legislative Session.
This was not a typical year. The sheer volume of high-impact bills affecting your credit union’s operations and members made for one of our most challenging sessions yet. Thanks to your engagement and grassroots advocacy, credit unions across the state experienced several major victories for the more than 14 million members you serve.
Please take a few minutes to review our 2025 California Legislative Recap for a full analysis of all priority bills, including those signed into law.
“Your dedication in hosting district meetings, sharing firsthand stories, and participating in our Government Relations Rally made a huge difference at the state capitol in Sacramento,” said Robert Wilson, senior vice president of state advocacy for California’s Credit Unions. “Your voice is strongest when we are united, proactive, and carry our momentum forward. Thank you for your powerful leadership as we continue to represent you and your members in Sacramento.”
The California league’s legislative work continues as credit unions look ahead to 2026 from a position of strength, built on the foundation of 2025 achievements.
If you have any questions, please email Robert Wilson.
