Clark County CU Joins Forces with HELP for Holiday Food Drive

Clark County Credit Union (CCCU) invited its members and the community to participate in a holiday food drive, which ran from December 1 to 12, to benefit HELP of Southern Nevada. HELP of Southern Nevada is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families, youth, and young adults in need.

The holiday food drive follows CCCU’s previous effort with HELP, including a successful employee cereal drive in May for World Hunger Day that provided hundreds of cereal boxes to local homeless youth at the Shannon West Homeless Youth Center.

CCCU was excited to partner again with HELP and extends an invitation to the community to join the effort during this season of giving and kindness. The credit union has been accepting non-perishable food donations at any of its six branch locations from December 1 to 12.

Food items that were donated included instant potatoes, gravy mix, canned soup or broth, canned vegetables, boxed pasta and rice side dishes, canned fruit, and canned meat (ham, tuna, chicken). Monetary cash donations were also welcomed and made by members and the community at any CCCU branch or by account transfer.

“The holiday season is a time for giving back,” said Crystal Price, director of marketing for Clark County Credit Union and a member of the CCCU Cares committee, the credit union’s philanthropic group. “Our last employee cereal drive inspired us to do it again, only this time with our members. We hope that even more families and young adults will receive the support they need to enjoy a brighter holiday season. Every donation, whether food or monetary, makes a real difference in our community.”

Whether someone was a new or longtime member, the credit union encouraged everyone in Las Vegas to support its holiday food drive.
