Foothill CU Recognized: ‘Where Culture Powers Performance’

Foothill Credit Union was recently featured in a special editorial segment published in Forbes and Fortune magazine. Titled “Where Culture Powers Performance,” the article explores the credit union’s unique intersection of high-level financial service and a deeply rooted community-first philosophy.

The feature highlights Foothill Credit Union’s commitment to its members and its workforce, illustrating how a robust internal culture translates directly into member experiences and community impact.

In the article, the credit union is recognized for balancing modern banking convenience with a mission-driven approach. From high-yield savings and competitive loan rates to advanced digital tools like Zelle and mobile deposits, the credit union continues to simplify the banking experience for its growing membership.

“We’re thrilled to share that Foothill Credit Union was recently featured in Forbes & Fortune,” said Michael Terzian, President and CEO, in a message to members on the credit union’s website. “The article highlights what makes us who we are — our amazing members, our dedicated team, and the community we proudly serve.”

The Forbes and Fortune piece also sheds light on Foothill’s extensive community outreach, including:

  • Educational support. In the last year, Foothill awarded over $24,000 in classroom improvement grants and raised $11,000 for classroom libraries, alongside ongoing scholarships for students and adult learners.
  • Crisis response. The credit union’s rapid response during recent wildfires — providing emergency loans, payment deferrals, and personalized financial guidance — was cited as a prime example of its commitment to members during difficult times.
  • Workplace excellence. By investing in leadership programs and wellness initiatives for its staff, Foothill has fostered a collaborative environment that attracts and retains top-tier talent.

Terzian also discussed plans for the 2026 launch of the Foothill Impact Foundation. This new charitable arm will expand the credit union’s ability to provide scholarships, enhance financial literacy, and support local community initiatives.
