Meet the NextGen Leaders Heading to Sacramento for GRR

As credit union leaders prepare to visit the state capital this April for the 2026 California Government Relations Rally (GRR), California’s Credit Unions is proud to introduce five exceptional individuals selected as this year’s NextGen Advocacy Grant recipients.

These emerging leaders represent the future of the “people helping people” mission, bringing a deep-seated commitment to the heart of the credit union movement. The NextGen Advocacy Grant recognizes professionals who have demonstrated unique passion and dedication to advancing credit union values.

This April, these five leaders will travel to Sacramento to serve as the voice of their members, engaging in advocacy efforts and meeting face-to-face with state lawmakers. This year’s NextGen leaders include:

  • Taylor Bercini, community engagement liaison at Universal City Studios Credit Union.
  • Tyler Sanger-Boyett, assistant vice president of fraud and card operations at Bay Federal Credit Union.
  • Natalia Custodio, vice president of marketing at UNCLE Credit Union.
  • Cristina Munoz, accounting supervisor at El Monte Community Credit Union.
  • Lauren Goucher, manager of member experience at Patelco Credit Union.

These professionals come from diverse backgrounds, spanning fraud operations, accounting, marketing, and member experience. By participating in the GRR, they are enhancing their advocacy skills, building meaningful connections with industry veterans, and contributing to the legislative momentum that protects the financial wellbeing of Californians.

“These professionals are passionate about advocacy,” said Lisa Quaranta, vice president of regulatory advocacy for California’s Credit Unions. “They have demonstrated exceptional dedication, playing pivotal roles within their credit unions while remaining committed to advancing our industry’s values.”

The California league would like to extend a special thank you to Valley Strong Credit Union for its sponsorship and support of these leaders. The credit union’s generosity is an investment in the long-term strength of credit unions across the state.

For those attending GRR, please join the league in welcoming Taylor, Tyler, Natalie, Cristina, and Lauren as they step into this vital role! Their presence in Sacramento ensures the next generation of credit union leadership is seen and heard.
