Meriwest Credit Union, the official credit union partner of Bay FC, recently partnered with the Bay Area’s professional women’s soccer club to host a free community professional soccer clinic at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley Morgan Hill Clubhouse.
More than 50 local youth participated in an afternoon of drills, mentorship, and hands-on coaching led by Bay FC midfielder Joelle Anderson.
The event celebrated Meriwest’s deep roots in the South Bay and marked an exciting milestone as the credit union prepares to open its newest branch in Morgan Hill in early 2026. By partnering with Bay FC, Meriwest brought the power of professional women’s soccer directly to the community it has served for nearly 65 years, reinforcing its commitment to financial well-being, youth empowerment, and strengthening local connections.
“Young people in Morgan Hill deserve every opportunity to dream big, whether that’s on the soccer field or in their financial future,” said Daniel Tovar, branch manager at Meriwest Credit Union. “Partnering with Bay FC and the incredible athletes who inspire the next generation allows us to combine our passion for community giving with the excitement of professional soccer. Seeing the smiles on these kids’ faces today is exactly why we do what we do.”
Participants received personalized instruction, learned new skills, and heard firsthand stories of perseverance and teamwork from Anderson.
The professional soccer clinic also highlighted the shared values of Meriwest Credit Union and Bay FC: empowering women and girls through sport, promoting financial literacy, and investing in the communities that make the Bay Area special.
