Nuvision FCU Launches $26K Giveaway to Boost PFD Impact

As Alaskans prepare for the upcoming Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) season, Nuvision Federal Credit Union is launching a community-focused initiative to amplify the dividend’s impact on local households.

Through its annual PFD Sweepstakes, the Huntington Beach, CA-headquartered credit union is committing $26,000 in additional cash prizes to help residents maximize their yearly payout and strengthen the local economy.

The PFD is $1,000 per eligible resident from the State of Alaska, with payments having started October 2, 2025 and continuing in waves. The annual payment allows for Alaskans to share in a portion of the state minerals revenue in the form of a dividend to benefit current and future generations — set by the legislature.

The credit union’s initiative is open to Nuvision members who designate their credit union account for PFD direct deposit. While the state’s primary deadline for these updates is March 31, 2026, Nuvision is reminding residents that the state typically accepts direct deposit changes through August 31.

This simple administrative step qualifies members to enter a drawing featuring a $5,500 grand prize and three runner-up prizes of $2,500 each. To encourage ongoing engagement, members can submit entries through Nuvision’s online form once every month from January through September, with each submission increasing their statistical odds in the final drawing.

A significant highlight of this year’s initiative is the “prize doubling” incentive aimed at new and returning participants. Winners who are first-time direct deposit users with Nuvision, or those who have not utilized the service for their PFD since 2024, will see their winnings automatically doubled. This provision increases the potential grand prize to $11,000 and the runner-up prizes to $5,000 each, representing a substantial private-sector supplement to the state-issued dividend.

The PFD is more than just a check; it’s an essential part of the Alaskan economy that helps families stock up for winter, save for education, or invest in our local businesses. Nuvision’s goal is to add an extra layer of financial security and excitement to this tradition. By doubling prizes for new participants, the credit union is making a tangible investment back into the communities it serves.

The final winners will be randomly selected and notified in October 2026, coinciding with the official distribution of the state dividends. The program is a noteworthy example of reinvesting in the local community during the state’s largest annual economic event.
