The first week of December marked the inaugural presentation of the Len Augustine Community Impact Award at the Travis Credit Union (TCU) annual Community Impact Breakfast. This award celebrates exceptional, long-standing community service and acknowledges individuals who embody TCU’s commitment to lifelong learning and youth development.
This year’s honoree, Lisette Estrella-Henderson of the Solano County Office of Education, was presented the award. Three organizations — Richmond Promise, Travis AFB’s Military Family & Readiness Center and the Concord Chamber of Commerce’s Committee Negocios Hispanos de Concord — were also honored with the credit union’s Community Champion Award.
“Each of our partners represent the spirit of community that drives our mission forward,” said Grady Bond, SVP, chief retail and lending officer at Travis Credit Union. “Together, we’re not just investing in programs, we’re investing in people, in opportunity and in a future where financial wellness is within reach for everyone.”
Now retired, Estrella-Henderson’s remarkable 40-plus years of service in youth education was celebrated. This honor not only highlights Lisette’s lasting impact on generations of students and educators but also reinforces TCU’s enduring commitment to lifelong learning and youth development through meaningful partnerships with leaders in education.
In addition to the Len Augustine Award, TCU honored three Community Champion Award recipients whose work exemplifies collaboration and community advancement:
As part of the breakfast program, TCU also debuted a new series of short videos highlighting the impactful initiatives of several organizations. Each story underscored the tangible outcomes of shared efforts in advancing financial empowerment, education, and inclusion.
The 2025 Community Impact Breakfast reflected TCU’s ongoing dedication to supporting local organizations that uplift and empower communities. Through shared commitment and community-focused relationships, TCU and its partners continue to expand access to financial education, empower underserved communities and foster economic growth throughout Northern California.
By investing in education, inclusion, and financial wellness, TCU continues to strengthen the social and economic foundation of the region it proudly serves.
