As 2025 transitioned to 2026, Ventura County Credit Union (VCCU) looked back on a milestone year defined by gratitude, celebration, and community support. Marking its 75th “Diamond Anniversary” throughout 2025, the largest credit union headquartered in Ventura County turned its success into a win for the local region, culminating in a massive three-quarters of a million dollars in direct donations.
To commemorate this landmark year, members and staff compiled a video capturing the many special moments that brought the community together.
This year-long journey of generosity began in December 2024 with a donation to FoodShare of Ventura County and continued through 2025 with monthly contributions to vital organizations including the Turning Point Foundation in February, the Ventura County Community Development Corporation in April, and the Ventura County Family Justice Center Foundation in May. As the summer months arrived, VCCU extended its support to Reel Guppy Outdoors in July, followed by a double impact in August with donations to both El Concilio Family Services and Community Action of Ventura County.
The momentum continued into the fall and winter, with the Moorpark College Foundation receiving support in October, the Healthcare Foundation VC in November, and finally, the Museum of Ventura County in December.
VCCU’s nonprofit foundation also championed the community by awarding grants to a wide array of non-profits driving education, health, and environmental initiatives. Significant grants of $10,000 were awarded to the Foundation Grant, 4 Kids 2 Kids, the Social Justice Fund for Ventura County, the Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast, and Teen Challenge of Southern California and Ventura.
The commitment to local wellbeing was bolstered by $7,500 grants to Senior Veterans Home Solutions and the Samaritan Center in Simi Valley, while $5,000 awards supported the Assistance League Conejo Valley, Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Association, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County, and Interface Children & Family Services. Additionally, the Canine Adoption and Rescue League and Creative Steps each received $2,500 to continue their inspiring work.
As 2025 came to a close, the credit union focused on a hands-on “Season of Giving” that empowered members to make a difference. As a presenting sponsor for Food Share of Ventura County’s 14th Annual CAN-tree event, VCCU built a massive 15-foot “Giant CAN-tree” valued at $10,000 alongside five additional trees. With Food Share facing record demand, the credit union reminded the community that every $1 donated is converted into 3 meals for neighbors in need.
This spirit of compassion was also visible in every branch during October, where a “sea of pink ribbons” was sponsored in honor of loved ones. These efforts raised exactly $1,927.32 for Ribbons of Life, a local non-profit providing breast cancer education and social support, with VCCU leaders personally presenting the funds at the organization’s December support meetup.
The 75th anniversary was a true win-win for members, as the celebration was built around the people who make the credit union possible. Members enjoyed special events ranging from the first-ever VCCU movie night to a spirited member-day soccer match. Also, the “Sharing Made Rewarding” referral program ran all year long, entering every member who referred family, friends, co-workers, or neighbors into a quarterly drawing for $750 for both the referrer and the new member.
As VCCU looks toward 2026, it remains dedicated to its mission of uplifting Ventura County, reminding its member-owners that they are the heart of the organization.
